Letter from Jim: A new voice for Ocean City starts with your vote on Tuesday
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Supporters,
Tuesday is an important day for Ocean City. It is Election Day, the day residents will choose who will lead our community. I’m reaching out today to ask for your vote so I can fulfill my promise of bringing a New Voice to City Council; one that is open, independent and financially disciplined, and represents the people of Ocean City.
Our campaign has been very busy since announcing my candidacy for Council-at-Large in February. We built a team, recruited volunteers, knocked on doors, raised money, engaged with stakeholders, and delivered a consistent, substantive, and impactful message. People tell me they are impressed with the campaign and I thank everyone who contributed to this group effort. When elected, I will demonstrate the same leadership in serving our community as I have demonstrated in campaigning for office.
Candidates for public office must have conviction. I have distinguished myself by clearly articulating who I am, what I believe, and how I will lead. My weekly letters outlined where I stand on important topics and provide real solutions for moving Ocean City forward.
I’ve discussed transparency, fiscal responsibility, and strong collaboration with the Mayor and Council, while also presenting clear, practical plans to support our year-round community, manage growth responsibly, maintain vital assets like the Boardwalk, and address the city’s day-to-day operational and financial challenges. You can find all the letters on my website at kellyforcouncil.com/news. My plan as a Council member will be to continue to share my thoughts, updates, and requests for input on a regular basis.
I am running for City Council because I care deeply about our community, I believe in public service, and I am uniquely qualified to serve. Ocean City has been a wonderful home for my wife Donna and me. We raised our sons here and are fortunate to share this special place with our grandchildren. As a Council member I will foster public engagement, exercise financial discipline, and serve independently, free from political and financial conflicts.
Ocean City needs a New Voice on City Council, and I need your vote to get there. Tuesday’s election will be very close and every vote will count. In the days ahead you can help by telling your family, friends and neighbors why you are voting for me. We need every vote, so be sure to get to the polls early and encourage and help others to do the same.
Thank you for your support and encouragement. I look forward to representing and serving you in the years ahead.
Yours,
Jim
